Key Background :

Tata Motors has now finally rolled out the Harrier EV, a major addition to its electric vehicle lineup. Harrier EV is Tata’s top-of-the-line electric SUV and comes with a price of ₹21.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The bookings would have commenced on July 2, 2025.

Supported by Tata’s Gen 2 acti.ev Plus platform—the Land Rover Omega platform—the Harrier EV is the first Tata electric SUV with a two-motor all-wheel drive capability, fitted on two electric motors. That feature makes it a formidable and potent electric SUV for the Indian consumer base. The lineup consists of three humongous trims—Adventure, Fearless, and Empowered—and the lone stand-alone Stealth Edition with sporty matte black body work.

Performance-wise, the Harrier EV is offered in two battery sizes. The larger 75 kWh battery has a maximum 627 km claimed distance on the MIDC test cycle, and that works out to a true driving range of around 480-505 km. The Tata SUV will accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 6.3 seconds and therefore is among the fastest electric SUVs in its class. Charging solutions under option include a 7.2 kW AC charger for home charging and will fill the battery to around 10.7 hours, and a 120 kW DC fast charger that will fill the battery from 20% to 80% in 25 minutes.

Inside the Harrier EV is a premium cabin with a high 14.53-inch QLED touchscreen infotainment display and 10.25-inch digital driver display screen. The car has a 540° surround camera system to offer improved visibility and safety. Comfort and convenience features such as ventilated front seats, sunroof, and 10-speaker JBL sound with Dolby Atmos 5.1 support. Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and seven airbags, to name a few, are available for improved safety.

By this roll-out, Tata Motors will be extremely well placed in the premium electric SUV space with a combination of performance, technology, and design to meet increasing demand for electric vehicles in India.
