Nintendo officially launched the much-awaited arrival of Nintendo Switch 2, which is to arrive on June 5, 2025, globally officially. Replacing Nintendo Switch is immensely improved in terms of hardware with huge upgrades featuring a 7.9-inch LCD display offering 1080p output along with silky 120Hz refresh. The console further has enhanced speakers with support for 3D audio, 256 GB on-board storage, and revamped magnetic Joy-Con controllers for extended use. The dock has also been redesigned to support 4K gaming when playing on TV, which is perfect for today’s gaming needs.

One of the highlights of the launch is “Mario Kart World,” the series’ new addition to the extremely popular racing franchise. The overhaul brings unprecedented levels of multiplayer racing from within the series so far, through support for up to 24 players at once. The franchise also witnessed a heavily expanded cast of characters, as well as a team of old-school players such as Mario, Luigi, and Bowser, among others like Moo Moos, Fish Bones, and Piantas. The game is compatible with multi-diverse vehicles used, which range from motorcycles and karts to aircrafts and snow machines, thus developing richer and more realistic racing experience.

“Mario Kart World” also introduces new game features such as open-world racing, off-road racing, and dynamic weather such as rain and fog that provide difficulty while racing. Introducing survival mode for the first time introduces battle royale-style competition into the game, increasing competition further. All these are introduced in order to provide good experience to new players as well as experienced players in the franchise.

Nintendo Switch 2 comes in two versions: base for €469.99 and bundle with “Mario Kart World” for €509.99. Pre-ordering starts on April 8.
